Angela Silima Muchai hails from Kakamega County, Lugari Constituency and Lwandeti Ward. She is currently undertaking a PHD in Communication and Information Studies at the University of Nairobi. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Education Arts degree-(English and literature) from Moi University Eldoret. She has previously worked with the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO as a Deputy Director for Communication and Information. Ms. Muchai has also worked in other institutions including Multimedia University, Transition Authority, the Catholic Secretariat and Augustana College. Further, Ms. Muchai has carried out different national duties including sitting on the Devolution Policy Taskforce, Developing the Competency Based Curriculum and overseeing the 2009 census in the Rift Valley.
